<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which sub-pixels for composing four or more colors are arranged by fully considering influence on vision. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device displays an image by using a plurality of display pixels, each display pixel including four or more sub-pixels corresponding to different colors as one unit. In the display pixel, two sub-pixels having a smaller level of luminance than an average value of four or more sub-pixels, are located at both edges of the display pixel. Thereby, a luminance error on the display image is reduced and an edge blur phenomenon when visually observed is reduced.
