<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve confidentiality of information related to an option parameter. <P>SOLUTION: In this numerical controller 10 making respective option functions corresponding to option parameters effective or ineffective by setting one or more option parameters among a plurality of option parameters, the plurality of option parameters are stored in a host computer 50 connected to the numerical controller via a communication line 30.
