PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve drying finish and lowers the power consumption. SOLUTION: A washing and drying machine has a rotary drum 3 which contains clothes, a motor 4 which drives the rotary drum, and a case 1 which supports the rotary drum, and then, is equipped with means 28 for blowing air directly onto the clothes held in the rotary drum with the air volume and the wind speed enough for smoothing the wrinkles: the air blowing means includes air blowing means, a heater 31 installed at the spout of the air blowing means and a nozzle 32 provided on the downstream side of the heater, has a control means that controls the motor, the air blowing means and the heater, rotates the rotary drum with the motor, and makes drying operation. The control means has a normal course which makes the heater strong and carries out drying operation in a short drying time and a low power consumption course which makes the heater weak and carries out the drying operation.
