PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair which includes a tension material constituting a support surface for supporting the body of a sitting person and a frame across which the tension material is hung, the chair capable of finely adjusting the tension of the tension material by simple configuration. SOLUTION: The backrest 1 of the chair includes an tension fabric 121 to be the tension material constituting the support surface for supporting the body of the sitting person, a backup member 122 to be the frame across which the tension fabric 121 is hung, and an air bag 18 to be a tension adjusting mechanism interposed between the tension fabric 121 and the backup member 122, for increasing tension acting on the tension fabric 121 by separating the tension fabric 121 and the backup member 122 from each other.
