PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge device capable of suppressing adhesion of a mist generated from a liquid discharge head to an optical sensor, and having a simple and inexpensive constitution.SOLUTION: The liquid discharge device includes a carriage 3 moving back and forth in a position facing a recording medium 1, and a liquid discharge head 2 and an optical sensor 5 mounted on the carriage 3 so as to face the recording medium 1. In the carriage 3, a communication passage 10 having opening ends in both ends is formed. On a surface of the carriage 3 facing the recording medium 1, one opening end 10a of the communication passage 10, the liquid discharge head 2, the other opening end 10b of the communication passage 10, and the optical sensor 5 are arranged in this order along the scanning direction of the carriage 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
