PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that length of time required for executing a calibration process is increased.SOLUTION: A coordinate positioning device comprises: a table (8); a measurement probe (12); and a probe head (10) for orienting the measurement probe (12) to the table (8) again. A calibration data set to the coordinate positioning device (2) comprising the datum data to plural orientations of the measurement probe is acquired. The datum data contains at least first datum data to a first nominal orientation of the measurement probe. After a failure occurs on the coordinate positioning device (2), the calibration data set acquires one or more position measurement values, and the calibration data set is updated by calculation of a first correction from the one or more position measurement values. The first correction describes change of the first datum data after the failure occurs, and updates the datum data to plural different orientations of the measurement probe (12).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
