PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, a control method and program capable of simplifying an authentication procedure.SOLUTION: A communication system 1 comprises an image acquisition unit 102 for acquiring an image of an object showing device authentication information, an extraction unit 104 for extracting the device authentication information from the acquired image, and an authentication unit 106 for performing an authentication procedure with a device using the extracted authentication information. The image acquisition unit 102 acquires an image of an object such as a two-dimensional bar-code showing authentication information captured by an imaging unit. The extraction unit 104 recognizes an object showing authentication information from the image and extracts an authentication number and a password from the object.
