PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent irregularity in image density due to irregular charging by considering fluctuation in a film forming state of an a-Si photoreceptor. SOLUTION: After an amorphous silicon photoreceptor drum is charged by a charging roller, the photoreceptor is exposed to form an electrostatic latent image. The electrostatic latent image is developed by a developing device. After a toner image is transferred, a residual surface potential on the photoreceptor drum is destaticized by an eraser. Distribution of surface potential after destaticization in the circumference direction and in the axial direction of the photoreceptor drum is preliminarily memorized as destaticizing history distribution information in a memory 22. A controller 20 adjusts the light quantity of destaticizing light from the eraser in accordance with a rotation position signal indicating a rotation position of the photoreceptor drum and with the destaticizing history distribution information.
