PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acidic gas removing agent using waste plastic which is manufactured by using waste plastics while dispensing with a manufacturing step of sticking an alkaline chemical or the like for adsorbing acidic gasses and is different from the conventional adsorbent, which does not adsorb any more acidic gasses when saturated with them, on the ground that acidic gasses can be removed continuously and to provide a method for manufacturing the acidic gas removing agent using waste plastic. SOLUTION: The acidic gas removing agent using waste plastic is manufactured by specifying and selecting the waste plastic containing at least one inorganic substance of a calcium compound and an aluminum compound as a filler, heating the inorganic substance-containing waste plastic at 400-1,000°C in a reducing atmosphere of≤5% oxygen and continuing the heating for a predetermined time to carbonize the waste plastic so that a mixed product of a carbonized plastic with the inorganic substance becomes the removing agent for removing acidic gasses in a gas phase continuously.
