The inventive device for testing oil and gas properties in formation comprises a system of blocks which are interconnected by means of a software-controlled multiposition pneumatic valves and are placed in a single thermostatic container. The system of blocks comprises a piston container with a test sample, a unit for transferring the sample from the piston container to a measuring press consisting of two piston pumps of equal performance, one of which supplies the sample from the piston container, whilst the other lowers a floating piston in the measuring press by using a working media, the measuring press provided with a floating piston having a hollow rod, an ultrasound linear displacement transducer for determining the oil volume, an electronic linear displacement transducer for determining the cumulative volume of oil and gas and for subsequently calculating the gas volume and a circulation piston pump provided with a chamber divided by the piston into two alternately filled with oil cavities. The combined system of blocks allows the device to operate in two modes: in the mode of a unidirectional continuous oil flow at a variable rate for determining the volume of oil and gas in the sample and in the mode of oil supply to a viscometer which is used for measuring viscosity and is provided with a bypass having a lockup valve. Said combination also makes it possible to modify the device operational mode at any time and at any pressures and temperatures.
