PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a complex for forming a polymer complex or a polymer complex composite having catalysis decomposing hydrogen peroxide into hydrogen and oxygen and being excellent in catalyst separation and recovery properties, material properties, the property of being composited, and like properties. SOLUTION: The present complex is one which is provided with at least one transition metal atom, a polydentate ligand containing at least 3 coordination atoms coordinated with each transition metal, and at least one vinyl-group-containing substituent bonded to the polydentate ligand and is further provided with a functional group represented by -(OCH<SB>2</SB>CH(R))<SB>n</SB>OR (wherein R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an aryl group) and a like group.
