PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of maintaining heat dissipation efficiency of a light guide member to be high level, although in a simple configuration.SOLUTION: When each LED 72 on an LED substrate 64 is heated, heat of each LED 72 is transmitted to a heat radiation plate 65 through the LED substrate 64 and heat of the heat radiation plate 65 is radiated by air convention. Because the heat radiation plate 65 is disposed outside a housing 61, an air around the heat radiation plate 65 is convected without stopping, heat dissipation efficiency of the heat radiation plate 65 is high so that temperature rise of each LED 72 is suppressed, and thus temperature rise at an end portion of a light guide member 71 is suppressed. Further, because the end portion of the light guide member 71, the LED substrate 64, and each LED 72 are disposed outside the housing 61, heat tends to hardly be stored and improve heat dissipation efficiency in the vicinity of the end portion of the light guide member 71, the LED substrate 64, and each LED 72, and thereby enabling temperature rise in each LED 72 and the end portion of the light guide member 71 to be suppressed. |
