A transmission device provided to a first node in an optical transmission system in which frames are transmitted via an optical interface from the first node to a second node, said transmission device comprising: a receiver that receives frames via a first electrical interface from a frame generation circuit; an optical transmitter that transmits the frames via the optical interface to the second node; and a determination unit that determines whether a first FEC type used in the first electrical interface and a second FEC type used in a second electrical interface are the same. If the first FEC type and the second FEC type are the same, the receiver guides the received frames to which FEC has been applied to the optical transmitter without terminating the FEC applied to the frames. |
