The purpose of the present invention is to: maintain performance on both icy/snowy road surfaces and wet road surfaces by providing flexibility to a rubber composition in a formulation of a rubber composition for tires that includes natural rubber as a main component of the rubber component thereof; improve viscosity in an unvulcanized state and improve workability; and improve low loss characteristics of the rubber composition after vulcanization. The present invention employs a rubber composition comprising: a rubber component including greater than or equal to 60 mass% of natural rubber; from 8 to 40 parts by mass of a thermoplastic resin per 100 parts by mass of said rubber component; and poly-p-dinitrosobenzene.
