The invention relates to a method for recording and certifying data. Biometric data is obtained from a person, and a recording is produced. The combination of the biometric data and the recording are stored. Security against manipulation is ensured in that an encrypted file is produced and stored during the recording process and an unencrypted but irreversibly modified sample file is generated. The invention further relates to a device for carrying out the method.
