A vacuum switch comprises a vacuum container that houses a main circuit breaker and a grounding switch. An isolating switch for electrically connecting and disconnecting between the main circuit switch and a bus conductor or a load conductor is housed in another container filled with insulating liquid or gas. The container filled with insulator is provided with a window through which the contacts of the isolating switch can be observed.
