PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform optical recording on various different recording media based on the difference of features between a preprocessing where ink is ejected toward a recording medium following ejection of a processing liquid and a post-processing where a processing liquid is ejected following ejection of ink. SOLUTION: An optimal processing mode (e.g. preprocessing, post-processing) is used selectively depending on the type of recording medium or the recording mode. Post-processing is selected when recording is performed on a recording medium having low permeability, e.g. a post card or a cardboard, and preprocessing is employed when recording is performed on a recording medium having high permeability. |
