PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of obtaining a dynamic range compression image without a sense of incongruity wherein deviation in white balance between a low luminance region and a high luminance region is corrected in compressing the dynamic range of an image. SOLUTION: A compression ratio processing section 31 calculates a compression ratio gy for compressing the dynamic range of input image signals Rin, Gin, Bin, a white balance correction section 32 corrects the white balance of the input image signals Rin, Gin, Bin in response to the compression ratio gy, and a compression processing section 33 multiplies the compression ratio gy with input image signals Rwb, Gwb, Bwb whose white balance is corrected to compress the dynamic range.
