A color image forming apparatus is provided to make a developing member and photosensitive members as one package, that is, a cartridge. Optical conductive layers are formed at the outer circumferences of cylindrical metal drums so that the photosensitive drums(120,121) are formed. Electrification devices(122,126) electrify the photosensitive drums with the uniform electric charge. Ionizer units(124,128) remove the charges on the entire surfaces of the photosensitive drums before formation of another toner image. Photosensitive drum cleaning units(125,129) remove the remaining waste toner at the outer circumferences of the photosensitive drums. Plural developing devices receive toner with a solid powder state. An exposing unit(150) irradiates the beam on the photosensitive drums so that latent images are formed.
