PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-supporting earth retaining wall with sufficient strength, which reduces weight. SOLUTION: This self-supporting earth retaining wall comprises: a plurality of steel pipe piles which penetrate low land surface-side ground in a colonnade manner in an earth retaining area of a slope face positioned between lower and high land surfaces; wall surface forming reinforcements which are arranged in a grid pattern along the steel pipe piles in such a manner as to sandwich the steel pipe piles in between; and concrete which is infilled to embed the wall surface forming reinforcements. The self-supporting earth retaining wall also comprises an anchor portion which is buried in the low land surface side ground, and a wall portion which is erected almost to a position of the high land surface from the anchor portion.
