PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a household electrical appliance connected through a contact to join a home network utilizing TCP/IP. SOLUTION: In the household electrical appliance controller 10 provided with a terminal 14 to which a household electrical appliance 12 controlled by a contact is connected, a contact control part 16 for performing the switch control of the contact with the household electrical appliance, and a communication adapter 20 communicably connected to an external network 18, the contact control part 16 is provided with an interface part 24 for transmitting and receiving data to/from the communication adapter and an appliance configuration information storage part 28 capable of storing appliance configuration information of each household electrical appliance. The communication adapter 20 receives the file of the appliance configuration information from the network 18 and transmits the data of the appliance configuration information based on the file to the contact control part 16 by a command form. The contact control part 16 receives the command, writes the obtained appliance configuration information in the appliance configuration information storage part 28, and stores it.
