The module (100) has a plug-in connector (110a) for electromechanical connection with a field device (200) i.e. device for measurement data detection in a process technique. A storage unit (120) stores data, and a communication interface (130) is in data connection with the field device. The interface automatically reads out configuration data of the field device, and the storage unit stores the configuration data. The storage unit comprises a storage interface (120a) and a secure digital memory card(RTM: stamp-sized flash memory card).
