PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition for topical application containing lipochroman-6 is provided to suppress damage by oxidized protein accumulation and recover face color. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic formulation contains 0.001 weight% -5 weight% of lipochroma-6. The cosmetic formulation improves skin color. The cosmetic formulation is applied to the skin and is used in enough amount for reducing oxidized protein in skin cells. The cosmetic formulation stimulates expression of gene encoding methionine sulfoxide reductase(Msr).
