<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst-carrying substrate having high mass activity and high durability, a method for producing the same, a membrane electrode assembly, and a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: In the catalyst-carrying substrate according to an embodiment, a catalyst layer including a plurality of pores is carried on a substrate. When the catalyst is cut in the thickness direction, an average diameter of cross sections of the pores is 5 to 400 nm, and a ratio of the long side to the short side of the cross sections of the pores is 1:1 to 10:1 on average. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
