<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for an IC card authentication system, in which user-friendliness is improved rather than the prior arts. <P>SOLUTION: A control apparatus for an IC card authentication system is characterized in that, in one IC card presenting action, in accordance with the presentation time, a control command is executed in a multi-stage manner. According to the present invention, it is enough to present an IC card only once to a card reader, and the number of times of executing the control command can be adjusted in accordance with whether the presentation time is long or short.
