摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for producing a hexagonal ferrite magnetic powder by a glass crystallization method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium having excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A production method of a hexagonal ferrite magnetic powder by a glass crystallization method is provided. A cleaning treatment after an acid treatment includes steps of adding an electrolyte to an acidic aqueous solution having a pH of 2.5 to 5.0, at least in a concentration of at least 0.2 mol/L, the electrolyte containing such anion species that a salt formed by the anion and a divalent cation included in a component constituting the hexagonal ferrite shows a solubility of 5.0 g/100 ml or more in water (20&deg;C), and then carrying out solid-liquid separation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
