PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply record without blurring in an ink jet recording type using an oily ink and to enhance water resistance of a recording material by arranging an ink receptive layer of a porous layer containing particles and a water non-absorbable thermoplastic resin and having a thickness of a specific range on an opaque base material. SOLUTION: The recording material is formed by laminating an ink receptive layer made of a porous layer containing particles and a water non-absorbable thermoplastic resin and having a thickness of 40 to 105 μm on an opaque base material. As the base material, polyester synthetic paper having excellent heat resistance and flexibility is suitable, and as its opacity, 60% or below of the total light ray transmittance is suitable. As a preferred embodiment of the particles to be blended within the receptive layer, a silica, a kaolinite, a talc or the like is used, and a synthetic noncrystalline silica having pores on its surface is more suitable. As the water non-absorbable thermoplastic resin of a binding material for binding the particles, a polyester thermoplastic resin is suitable in view of adhesive properties, water resistance and weather resistance of the base material. |
