<p>An apparatus for curling the outer peripheries of container shells includes a plurality of vertically stacked, grooved inner rings (16) and a plurality of vertically stacked, grooved outer ring-segments (18). A plurality of adjustment devices (22a, b) are provided to selectively move the outer ring segments relative to the inner ring segments to adjust a distance between the inner ring and outer ring-segment grooves. Each adjustment device includes a cam member (94) located within vertically extending openings (78, 80) in the outer ring-segments. One of the openings associated with each cam member is in an associated outer ring-segment and is engaged by the cam member, while the remaining openings associated with the cam member in the other outer ring-segments are clearance openings. The adjustment devices permit each of the outer ring-segments to be individually positioned without removing the other outer ring-segments.</p> |
