The compressed air and foam fire extinguishing system has a compressor to deliver compressed air e.g. from a truck air brake compressor, and a pressure sensor (2) to register the pressure. A mixer (7), to mix the foam and water with the compressed air, has inflow connections for the compressed air and the foam/water (1) and an outflow connection for the foam under pressure. A pressure control (4) as a proportional control valve with an electrical link (3) to the sensor, at the pressure side of the compressor, holds the air pressure at the required ratio to the extinguishing foam pressure. A setting unit (10) can adjust the working pressure.
