<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive recording material which enables a large number of times of formation or erasure of a recording image, with a high contrast and a high sensitivity, and can hold the image being stable with time even in various environments. <P>SOLUTION: The reversible heat-sensitive recording material contains, on a substrate, a colorless or light-colored electron donating dye precursor and a reversible developer which brings about a reversible change of a color tone in the electron donating dye precursor according to a difference in a cooling speed after heating.
