PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive apparatus, adapted to drive a motor with a high efficiency by causing an output voltage control of a power factor improving circuit to operate stably, while keeping superior responsiveness. SOLUTION: Corrected value of the duty ratio determined by a signal correcting portion 8b is set at a minimum value, in order to suppress overresponse to characteristics fluctuations, noises, voltage fluctuations. Also, corrected value, added by a signal adding portion 8c, is set at a sufficiently large value compared with the corrected value of the signal correcting portion 8b. When a voltage frequency controller 8a directs to change the DC voltage, a change-over switch 8 is connected to a signal adding portion side, thereby shortening the time until the target voltage is reached by increasing the changed speed of output voltage.
