PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bond a carbon material 9 and a riser 7 rigidly under the state where the carbon material 9 and the riser 7 are positioned, in a carbon commutator 1 having a commutator piece 6 formed of the carbon material 9. SOLUTION: A locking protrusion 9a is formed on the inner circumferential surface of a tubular carbon material 9 and a positioning protrusion 7e corresponding to the protrusion 9a is formed on a riser 7. Under the state where the protrusions 9a and 7e are opposing each other, the carbon material 9 and the riser body 7a are butted and unified using an electrical bonding means such as solder.
