The device (3) has a ring (4) enclosing a bearing surface of a motor vehicle wheel (2). A hook and loop fastener is formed such that it preloads the ring against the motor vehicle wheel to be fixed to the ring. The ring is formed from a flexible material, which permits driving movement of a motor vehicle (1), where an inner diameter of the ring corresponds to an external diameter of the motor vehicle wheel. The ring is fixed in a mounted condition by an increased tire pressure on the motor vehicle wheel.
