The method involves applying power impulse technology for removal of information on smart cards, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and/or miniaturized multimedia devices. High electrical alternating fields are used with the power impulse technology. The high electrical alternating fields and/or the electromagnetic alternating fields are locally concentrated and/or focused. Electronic structures are irreversibly destroyed with the smart cards, tags and/or multimedia devices in a separate shielded area. The cards, tags and multimedia devices are attached with an impulse chamber (1). An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for deflation of information.
