An ontology search system is provided to increase user satisfaction by providing desired information to a user wanting to find the information for cultural contents and the related information in which relation is applied based on ontology, and reduce expenses by providing services through an agent program without manpower. A data inputting module(10) inputs metadata for cultural contents. An XML(eXtensible Markup Language) generating module(20) generates XML data based on the received metadata. An ontology file generating module(30) generates an ontology file based on the XML data. An ontology search managing module(40) provides a search function based on the ontology files. The ontology file generating module generates an OWL(Ontology Web Language) base ontology model by using methontology, and generates an OWL ontology file based on the OWL base ontology mode and the XML data. The ontology search managing module includes an index generator(41) generating an index for searching information of the ontology file, an SPARQL(Simple Protocol And RDF(Resource Description Framework) Query Language) supporter(42), and an ontology searching/inquiring part(43) providing a search/inquiry function based on the ontology file.
