<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed board working machine in which machining efficiency can be improved even in machining characters on a workpiece. <P>SOLUTION: A coordinate transformation means is provided by which the center coordinate of the dot d of each character constituting a character string is transformed to the coordinate of a machining coordinate system for machining holes. Then, before the machining, on the basis of the character string listed in a machining program and positional information of the character string, the center coordinate of the dot of each character constituting the character string is transformed to the coordinate of the machining coordinate system for machining holes, and the machining is performed by regarding each dot d as a hole.
