PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downloader that utilizes P2P technology, which can eliminate concerns over general aspects of a P2P technology so that a user can receive the benefit of the P2P technology without anxiety. SOLUTION: A downloader (a) dedicated for contents (A) includes a P2P component for transmitting/receiving data in a P2P network 4 and the information required for acquiring a distribution control file (a'), but does not comprise the information required for acquiring other distribution control files (b') and (c'). The downloader (a) acquires the distribution control file (a') from a distribution control file distribution server 2 based on the information of the distribution control file (a'), and based on the acquired distribution control file (a'), acquires the contents (A) through the P2P network 4.
