PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for classifying an image in consideration of both shooting time and an image feature amount. SOLUTION: First, a distance threshold value Tt is calculated based on the number of files classified. (S41). The files are grouped into a rough group by the shooting time by use of hierarchical clustering. At that time, the grouping is performed based on the distance threshold value Tt (S42). Next, a distance threshold value Tf is calculated for a file in each rough group based on the number of the files in the rough group (S43). Next, based on the distance threshold value Tf, the files are grouped into a final group by the image feature amount by use of hierarchical clustering. (S44).
