PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector employing a blower as a means for generating cooling air to prevent dispersion of the cooling air by certainly guiding the cooling air to an optical element to be cooled by using a duct. SOLUTION: This projector includes a light source 1, a color wheel 3, a motor 3a, a light tunnel 4, a digital mirror device (DMD) 7, a projection lens 8, a heat sink 9 for heat dissipation, a blower 30 delivering the cooling air, and an air duct 40 forming a unidirectional air-blowing passage for the cooling air delivered by the blower. The heat sink 9 is stored in the air duct 40. A hood 50 formed in a portal shape may be added for covering the motor 3a, color wheel 3, and light tunnel 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
