Abstract A method to codify application packaging rules and dependencies for the purposes of automating Microsoft App-V packaging. Packaging Rules and Packaging Dependencies are identified through a process of inspecting and comparing two baselines. The rules are then codified and stored in a Packaging Recipe. The software dependencies are extracted and stored with identifying meta-data in the Packaging Dependency library.
