Provided is a polarizing plate with a phase-difference layer, and being extremely thin and also having excellent durability. The polarizing plate with a phase-difference layer includes a polarizer, a protective layer bonded to one side of the polarizer with a first adhesive layer therebetween, and a phase-difference layer bonded to the other side of the polarizer with an adhesive layer therebetween. The thickness of the polarizer is 2-12 μm, the boric acid content is 18 wt.% or greater, the iodine content is 2.1 wt.% or greater, the single transmittance is 44.2% or greater, the degree of polarization is 98% or greater, and the alignment function is 0.35 or greater. The thickness of the phase-difference layer is 50 μm or less, and the birefringence Δnxy is 0.0025 or greater. The thicknesses of the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer are 2 μm or less. |
