PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent such a setting failure of a sheet that the tip portion of the sheet enters a space between the upper end of a side fence and a cover member when setting the sheet on the tray body by inserting it from a sheet insertion port in the state where the cover member is closed.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device comprises: a tray body which includes a first placement surface; a cover member which is connected to the end on the opposite side to the sheet feeding side of the tray body so as to be capable of rotating between the close position of covering the first placement surface of the tray body and the open position of exposing the first placement surface of the tray body, and includes a second placement surface on which a sheet being a feeding object is placed across the first placement surface of the tray at the open position; a sheet insertion opening to which the sheet can be inserted on the first placement surface of the tray body in the state where the cover member is at the close position; and a pair of side fences which are provided so as to be movable in the width direction orthogonal to the sheet feeding direction on the first placement surface of the tray body.
