The invention relates to a compressing device, a method for compressing a gas, and a use of the compressing device. The compressing device (1) comprises a first compressing unit (7a) and a second compressing unit (7b) that are arranged on the same axial line (8). In cylinder spaces (11a, 11b) of the compressing units, the gas fed thereto is compressed by means of pistons (12a, 12b) to a high pressure. The compression takes place alternately in the compressing units. |
