PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump unit capable of realizing appropriate control processing and a method for controlling the pump unit.SOLUTION: A pump unit 1 in accordance with one preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises: a plurality of pumps 10; a pressure sensor 14 capable of detecting a discharging pressure at a secondary side of the plurality of pumps 10; a plurality of flow rate sensors 11 capable of detecting a respective flow rate of each of the plurality of pumps 10; and a control part 21 for performing to increase the number for energizing other pumps when a discharging pressure at the time of operation of any one or more pumps 10 of the plurality of pumps 10 is detected and the detected discharging pressure is equal to or less than a prescribed number increased pressure, determining a number decreasing flow rate threshold in reference to a total sum of the detected flow rate at the time of increasing number that is a detected flow rate of the pump when the discharging pressure is less than the number increasing pressure or just before it, comparing the number decreasing flow rate threshold with the total sum of the detected flow rate at the time of number increasing operation, and performing number decreasing for stopping any one of the pumps when the total sum of the detected flow rate at the time of increasing number operation is equal ro or less than the number decreasing flow rate threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
