PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a starter motor and oil filter with a favorable space efficiency and also improve an engine maintenance property by replacing the oil filter from an outboard side easily and make an outboard engine compact by shortening the front/rear length of the engine. SOLUTION: In an outboard engine, wherein an engine 2 in mounted vertically while erecting the crankshaft 3 and a crank case 4, cylinder block and cylinder head are arranged, from the frontside in order, a starter motor 48 is installed on the front upper part of the crank case 4 and an oil filter 49 is installed on its downside. The starter motor 48 and oil filter 49 are off-set arranged on the side relative to the axis C of the crankshaft 3 in the front view. |
