PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic dye with improved photoelectric conversion characteristics from near-infrared to infrared areas and a dye-sensitized solar cell using the sensitizing dye.

SOLUTION: An organic system sensitizing dye contains a structure expressed in formula (1). Provided, R1to R6denote H or an alkyl group of the carbon number of 1 to 5, X denotes halogen, Y denotes a monovalent negative ion, and n, m denote integers of 1 to 5.
