This invention is an electro-chemical process for decomposing a dissolved aqueous complex precious metal salt into an insoluble precipitate, comprising the changing of a primary basic or acidic solution, which contains said salt, to a secondary acidic solution, and using the secondary solution, as an electrolyte, in which a current of electrons chemically alters a molecular structure of said salts, into a precious metal precipitate. This process is based on the novel consideration that inter-molecular water is integrally locked into the molecular structure of aqueous salts, which has applications in eve ry aspect of wet-lab chemistry, particularly, the extraction of precious metals from aqueous solutions and seawater.
|
