PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal identification device, enabling personal identification utilizing a handwritten character, having high matching accuracy, and flexibly setting the authentication intensity. SOLUTION: This device includes: a storage means storing a user identifier for identifying a user and a plurality of handwritten images in association with each other, wherein according to the user identifier accepted from the user, two or more images among a plurality of handwritten images stored in association with the user identifier are extracted as a correct image from the storage means, a predetermined number of images among handwritten images other than the plurality of handwritten images stored in association with the user identifier are extracted as an incorrect image from the storage means, and an authentication screen information where two or more extracted correct images and the predetermined number of incorrect images are optionally arranged is generated and presented to the user.
