<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus attaining desirable dot formation by preventing cohesion unevenness in dot formation in a two-liquid cohesion method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming method comprises forming a cohesion processing liquid layer 12 with a thickness t<SB>s</SB>on a recording medium 10, dropping an ink drop 14 having a diameter d when converted into a sphere, on the recording medium 10 formed with the cohesion processing liquid layer 12, eliminating a solvent on the recording medium 10 when an ink cohesion body 16 is formed by the reaction of the cohesion processing liquid 12 and ink drop 14, then pressing the ink cohesion body 16 and carrying out flattening processing to form a desired image, wherein a relationship between the thickness t<SB>s</SB>of the cohesion processing liquid layer 12 and the diameter d of the ink drop 14 when converted into the sphere satisfies t<SB>s</SB>/d≥0.64, and a relationship between the surface tension γ<SB>s</SB>of the cohesion processing liquid and the surface tension γ<SB>i</SB>of ink satisfies γ<SB>s</SB><γ<SB>i</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
