PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase generator output.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a control device for a rotary electric machine comprises: a rotor 21 including Nr pieces of rotor teeth 14 in a circumferential direction of an outer peripheral surface of the rotor; and a stator 22 disposed outside of the rotor 21 on the same core via an air gap G. The stator 22 includes Nf pieces of stator teeth 16 that are provided oppositely to the Nr pieces of rotor teeth 14 and includes a field coil 17 generating Nf pieces of magnetic poles and a three-phase armature coil 18 generating Na pieces of magnetic poles, the coils being provided in slots between the stator teeth 16 and wound around the stator teeth 16. Among Nr, Nf, and Na, a relation of Nf+Na=2Nr is established. The control device also comprises control means which performs control, when increasing an armature current of the three-phase armature coil 18, for maintaining a phase of the current at an advance side relative to a voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
